About Us

Founded over 15 years ago in response to a culture in which food waste was being normalised. Fresh Pod extends the life of fruit, vegetables and cut flowers which improves profitability, household budgets and reduces our carbon footprint in a natural and sustainable way.

The company now manufactures a variety of filters for every situation from a domestic fridge to a shipping container and a large commercial store or packhouse.

Thousands of households renew their Fresh Pod every year which tells us that they value them and our mobile filtration units create flexible ethylene scrubbing answers for growers and packers all over Europe.

How do I use Fresh Pod?

In my fridge?

One individual Fresh Pod sachet is about the size of a teabag and when placed in its pod in the fridge will ensure that the content stays fresher for longer. Make sure you take them out of their plastic wrappers. Various sizes and packs can be purchased depending on your needs. When the time comes for the sachet to be changed, usually around six months, the contents make a fantastic fertiliser that you can use to feed your house plants.

Commercially?

Fresh Pod's box filters work with the existing air circulation systems to scrub the air of any ethylene gas. Box filters are available for up to 10,000 cubic feet of space.

The independently powered EC3 system can reduce the ethylene gas level in a 100,000 cubic foot store by up to 98.9%. How does Fresh Pod work?

No Rocket Science

Ethylene gas is given off naturally from fruit, vegetables and flowers as they mature which means that your produce will have a reduced shelf life. Increased wastages add pressure to margins or household budgets. Fresh Pod absorbs the ethylene to prevent items maturing as quickly.

Designed With Care

Fresh Pod utilises organically approved ethylene absorbing zeolite pellets. A reaction oxidises ethylene gas converting the filter material to manganese dioxide which is an excellent plant fertiliser, also approved for organics. Fresh Pod eliminates 98.9% of ethylene gas in a safe and non-toxic way.
